MX5MAD is the online shop for XS-Speed Ltd, who are themselves the performance sister company of everythingmx5.com. MX5MAD is backed by over 30 years of mechanical experience.
Russ Gardiner, partner, has been a highly successful road and track car mechanic for 23 years. He began by working on minis and was race preparing minis for grass track racing, including V6 and V8 engine conversions back in the early eighties.
Russ opened his first garage in 1986, specialising in Toyotas. During this time he was also the head mechanic for Albion race team. A dynamic team, racing Renault GT turbos and Clio turbos around the country.
In the mid-nineties, Russ attention turned to the Mazda MX-5 and since then he has specialised in servicing, maintenance and performance modification work on this marque. Russ brings a wealth of experience and a great knowledge of performance work to XS-Speed.
Karl Pickering, partner, first got involved with performance work through working with Russ back in 2002 on his own MX-5 project car. His role now includes researching new products, research and development and with a background in software engineering and electronics has expanded to include electronic performance systems.
Our primary focus is performance work, but we believe that a car says something about who we are and we try to cater for all who would like to make their MX-5 stand out from the crowd :)
